EMT CLASSES
There are currently several options in Lancaster County for EMT training. Each training center varies in the length of their program, clinical and academic requirements, and costs.
Options include:
Harrisburg Area Community College: HACC holds EMT classes in a variety of locations, Ambulance Stations, Fire Stations, schools, etc., at various times throughout the year. Their program is approximately 140 hours, typically running two evenings per week. For more information, contact HACC at 1.800.222.4222.
Lancaster County Career & Technology Center: The LCCTC program is held at the Lancaster County Public Safety Training Center. This program is only open to high school seniors enrolled in the Public Safety Program through LCCTC. See your school for further details.
Lancaster EMS Academy: The Lancaster EMS Academy is a cooperative effort between Lancaster EMS and the Lancaster General College of Nursing & Health Sciences. Their program is approximately 260 hours and includes certificates of training in Emergency Vehicle Driver Training, Hazardous Materials Operations and Assisting the ALS Provider. Students are also required to complete a minimum of 40-hours of prehospital clinical time within the Lancaster EMS system.
